Entre los peligros que tienen un mal procedimiento estético está el uso indebido de sustancias no aprobadas para su administración en seres humanos, como los biopolímeros, que terminan desencadenando la enfermedad conocida como alogenosis iatrogénica.

“El espectro de la enfermedad en su presentación clínica local como sistémica, es consecuencia directa de la activación del sistema inmune ante la infiltración de sustancias extrañas con alto grado de antigenicidad y bajo grado de biocompatibilidad”, explican expertos.

Recomiendan revisar con detenimiento el perfil del profesional que realizará el procedimiento estético, para así evitar complicaciones.

“Lo más importante es que si desea realizarse un procedimiento para embellecer el cuerpo, tiene que verificar que la persona que está consultando esté entrenada debida y formalmente.

“Por ejemplo, en el caso de los cirujanos en Colombia, se puede consultar en la Sociedad Colombiana de Cirugía Plástica Estética y Reconstructiva, al profesional al que está acudiendo y así identificar sus estudios y experiencia”, recomienda el médico cirujano Luis Alonso Salja. Según la Sociedad Internacional de Cirugía Plástica Estética (Isaps, por sus siglas en inglés), en el año 2019, en Colombia se realizaron 408.789 procedimientos plásticos, de los cuales 273.316 fueron quirúrgicos y 135.473, tratamientos estéticos que no requieren intervención. A propósito, el experto Luis Alonso Salja aclara dudas frecuentes que surgen al momento de querer hacerse un cambio corporal:

Los biopolímeros son sustancias inertes, no compatibles con los organismos vivos, como el ser humano, por lo tanto se comportan como un cuerpo extraño, que debe salir porque el cuerpo trata de rechazarlo, explica el cirujano. Una vez inyectados, siempre van a acarrear problemas por su migración; también pueden sobre infectarse. Pueden causar daños irreparables en los tejidos.

No es difícil, creo que hay procedimientos que la hacen parecer antinatural, precisamente como cuando se inyectan biopolímeros y se ponen prótesis de forma errada. Realmente la cirugía de contorno glúteos con autoinjertos grasos y lipotransferencia produce resultados muy naturales.
